How do I play my video files within LightJar?
The majority of video files uploaded into LightJar have a mp4 proxy copy automatically made of the original, and it is the proxy file that is shown when a user wants to play their video within LightJar. Proxy mp4 files are viewable on almost all browsers and more tolerable of Web constraints. The original file is always available for download when needed. For some original file types, we are unable to make the proxy mp4 copies; for example we are not able to make a proxy mp4 file from an uploaded Apple ProRes 422 files. In these cases, a download of the original file is the only way to view or play the movie. For reference, we are able to make a proxy mp4 file for the following video file types that come from modern cameras and smart phones - 3gp, asf, avi, divx, flv, m4a, mkv, mov, mp4, mpeg, mpeg-ps, mpeg-ts, mxf, mts, mpg, and ogg,
